We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team in Drachten, Netherlands, and play a crucial role in shaping the future of aviation.

Job Description

As a Design Engineer at HyFly, you will be at the forefront of innovation, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including the design team, customers, and suppliers, to design and develop components and systems for our groundbreaking hydrogen-powered VTOL drone. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a project that promises to revolutionize transportation and significantly reduce our carbon footprint.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including the design team, customers, and suppliers, to design and develop components and systems for our hydrogen-powered VTOL drone.
• Perform structural analysis, simulations and tests to ensure the safety and reliability of drone components.
• Create detailed design specifications, drawings, and comprehensive documentation for manufacturing.
• Evaluate and select materials, manufacturing processes, and suppliers in line with our sustainability goals.
• Work in tandem with testing and prototyping teams to validate designs and implement necessary improvements.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in the aviation or aerospace industry, preferred between 3 and 10 years.
• Proficiency in CAD software, with expertise in Onshape as an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on structural analysis.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Detail-oriented without losing sight on the global picture, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Preferably experience with composites.
